OK, so my mom, sister-in-law, and I went to our first Antiques and Collectibles Auction over Memorial Day. I bought stuff to use in my house or redo for my house. Then I decided to check out an auction close to our house in Haslet...and bought more. It is so much fun! I am pretty good about not going "over" what I think I should pay for an item...but I do get competitive :) These are a couple of my finds (I have repainted and Lisafied them a bit). I currently have them for sale on our neighborhood page, but I bet I end up using them in my house. I forgot to take before pictures...I'll get better about that as I keep hunting for more treasures.
This little table was faux/sponge painted green and white.
I decided to paint it a teal sort of color - bluish green.
After I painted it, I sanded a bit of the paint to make it look shabby.
The shelf below was very rusted, and had gross chippy paint in random places. Dan sanded a lot of the chippy paint off and I repainted it. I also shined up the wooden shelf.
You can tell it was handmade by someone many years ago.
